i think you could add a lot more detail and contrast overall. your drawing is a bit on the light side. things such as the hair and eyebrow can probably go darker while there are other shadows that you could add such as bottom of nose and below the bottom lip.

a good scan definitely helps, i should have mentioned that actually
aside from that, it's pretty good (i mean i recognized the portrait, so it's a good likeness)
